Prize awarded by Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan in the Contest for best academic thesis organized by Polish Patent Office for Katarzyna Trz\u00f3pek<\/strong>, a graduate of the Jagiellonian University, for the dissertation „Protection of well-known trademarks in law and practice of EU authorities” written under the supervision of Prof. Stanis\u0142aw Biernat in 2009\/2010.<\/p>\n

First prize in the National Contest for best master’s thesis in the area of the European law LUMINARZ organized by European Law Students\u2019 Association for Marta Godlewska<\/strong>, a graduate of the Jagiellonian University, for the dissertation „Cross-border mobility of companies and firms within the EU” written under the supervision of Prof. Stanis\u0142aw Biernat in 2009\/2010.<\/p>\n

Third prize in the National Contest for best master’s thesis in the area of the European law LUMINARZ organized by European Law Students\u2019 Association for Katarzyna Pawlikowska<\/strong>, a graduate of the Jagiellonian University, for the dissertation „Withdrawal of final administrative decisions as a tool ensuring effectiveness of the EU law and its application in Polish law” written under the supervision of Prof. Stanis\u0142aw Biernat in 2009\/2010.<\/p>\n

A distinction for Agnieszka Kastelik-Smaza<\/strong>, Ph.D. in the 45th „Pa\u0144stwo i Prawo” Law Journal National Contest of the best doctor’s and habilitated doctor’s dissertations in the area of law for the doctor’s dissertation „Das Vorabentscheidungsverfahren aus der Sicht des individuellen Rechtsschutzes” („Preliminary reference procedure and protection of individual rights”), dissertation written in both German and Polish language under the supervision of Prof. S. Biernat.<\/p>\n

Biernat and presented in the academic year 2002\/2003; the award was granted in 2004.<\/p>\n

S\u0142awomir Dudzik<\/strong> in the 38th „Pa\u0144stwo i Prawo” Law Journal National Contest of the best doctor’s and habilitated doctor’s dissertation for habilitated doctor’s dissertation” Pomoc pa\u0144stwa dla przedsi\u0119biorstw publicznych w prawie Wsp\u00f3lnoty Europejskiej. Mi\u0119dzy neutralno\u015bci\u0105 a zaanga\u017cowaniem”, [State aid for public undertakings in European Community law. Between neutrality and involvement]. The award was granted on June, 14th 2004.<\/p>\n

1st Prize for Saulius Lukas Kaleda<\/strong>, Ph.D. in the 38th „Pa\u0144stwo i Prawo” Law Journal National Contest of the best doctor’s and habilitated doctor’s dissertations in the area of law for the dissertation „Przej\u0119cie prawa wsp\u00f3lnotowego przez nowe pa\u0144stwo cz\u0142onkowskie – zagadnienia przej\u015bciowe oraz mi\u0119dzyczasowe”. The award was granted on June, 14th 2004. Dr Kaleda is 1st non-Polish citizen who has been awarded in ” Pa\u0144stwo i Prawo” contests.<\/p>\n

The award of the Professor Janusz \u0141\u0119towski Foundation received by Nina P\u00f3\u0142torak<\/strong>, Ph.D., for the dissertation „Odpowiedzialno\u015b\u0107 odszkodowawcza pa\u0144stwa w prawie Wsp\u00f3lnot Europejskich” (Member States Liability in Damages for the Community Law Infringement).
\nThe award was granted in 2003.<\/p>\n

3rd Award in the LUMINARZ National Contest of the best master’s diploma thesis in the area of the European law for Agnieszka Malczewska<\/strong>, M.L., graduated from the Jagiellonian University, for the dissertation „Programy komputerowe w prawie autorskim i patentowym ze szczeg\u00f3lnym uwzgl\u0119dnieniem prawa Stan\u00f3w Zjednoczonych, Unii Europejskiej i Polski” (Computer programs in intellectual property law and in patent law, with the special concern on the laws of the USA, EU and Poland) written under the supervision of Prof. S. Biernat and presented in the academic year 2001\/2002; the award was granted in 2003.<\/p>\n

A distinction in the LUMINARZ National Contest of the best master’s diploma thesis in the area of the European law for Anna Czarnota<\/strong>, M.L., graduated from the Jagiellonian University, for the dissertation „Odwrotna dyskryminacja na tle swobody prowadzenia dzia\u0142alno\u015bci gospodarczej w prawie wsp\u00f3lnotowym” (Reverse discrimination – an analysis of the issue in the case right of establishment in Community law) written under the supervision of Prof. S. Biernat and presented in the academic year 2001\/2002; the distinction was received in 2003.<\/p>\n

A distinction in the LUMINARZ National Contest of the best master’s diploma thesis in the area of the European law for Alicja Sikora<\/strong>, M.L., graduated from the Jagiellonian University, for the dissertation „Dyrektywa wsp\u00f3lnotowa w wewn\u0119trznym porz\u0105dku prawnym na przyk\u0142adzie Francji” (Community directive in the internal legal order of the Member State in the case of France) written under the supervision of Prof. S. Biernat and presented in the academic year 2001\/2002; the distinction was received in 2003.<\/p>\n

Od uprawnie\u0144 pracowniczych po uprawnienia wynikaj\u0105ce z obywatelstwa Unii Europejskiej” (Free Movement of Students. From Rights derived from Workers\u2019 Status to Rights derived from EU Citizenship) written under the supervision of Prof. S. Biernat and presented in the academic year 2001\/2002; granted in 2002.<\/p>\n

Saulius \u0141ukasz Kaleda<\/strong>, Ph.D. received the I Award in the „Kwartalnik Prawa Publicznego” Law Journal Contest of the best publications in the year 2001 for the article „Natychmiastowe
\ndzia\u0142anie prawa wsp\u00f3lnotowego w nowym pa\u0144stwie cz\u0142onkowskim. Zagadnienia
\nmi\u0119dzyczasowe” (Immediate Operation of the Community Law in the New Member State. The inter-temporal problems).<\/p>\n

A distinction received in the Professor Stefan Ritterman Contest of the best master’s diploma thesis in the area of law written at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University for Justyna Str\u00f3\u017cczyk<\/strong>, M.L., graduated from the Jagiellonian University, for the dissertation „Zasada \u015bci\u015blejszej wsp\u00f3\u0142pracy w prawie Unii Europejskiej” (Principle of Closer Co-operation in EU Law) written under the supervision of Prof. S. Biernat and presented in the academic year 2000\/2001; granted in 2001.<\/p>\n

3rd place for Students\u2019 Team from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University: Paulina Bidu\u015b, Katarzyna Ga\u0142ka, Magdalena W\u0119glarz<\/strong> (under supervision of Nina P\u00f3\u0142torak Ph.D.) in 7th „Central and East European Moot Court Competition”, Prague 2001, organised by Cambridge University. Paulina Bidu\u015b<\/strong> received distinction in the competition for the „Best Speaker”.<\/p>\n
