SUSTAINABILITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE IN EU LAW (SustEuLaw)

A NEW JEAN MONNET MODULE (JMM) COURSE ON „SUSTAINABILITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE IN EU LAW (SustEuLaw)“ (in English)

(summer semester 2021/2022)

We are delighted to inform you that, during the summer semester 2021/2022, the Chair of European Law will propose a new course on „Sustainability and Climate Change in EU Law”. This course is financed through the Jean Monnet Grant Project 101047879 — SustEULaw.

Taught jointly by a group of researchers from Department of EU law and Environmental Law Centre of the Jagiellonian University, this innovative course is meant to familiarise students with the intricacies of sustainability and climate change in the EU legal order, including its constitutional foundations.

The course is addressed to students willing to develop a thorough understanding of legal issues related to the EU regulatory framework in the field of sustainability and climate change. We will aim at giving you comprehensive knowledge of both theoretical and practical instruments in various fields of EU material and procedural law. The course is inspired by recent developments in a global and EU context in areas of the green transition, decarbonisation, and challenges to the legal protection in relation to the climate change.

The classes will start on March 11, 13h30-17h00 (online). It is open to students who have completed two years of legal studies. Good command of English is required.

Do not hesitate to contact us, should you have any questions (alicja.1.sikora@uj.edu.pl).

We warmly invite you to attend the course,

dr Alicja Sikora-Kalėda, dr Mariusz Baran, prof. Inga Kawka, dr Saulius Kalėda, Iryna Kovalchuk
